CEDPR Participates in Global Peace Conference in Manila

From 1 November to 14 December 2023, the Global Peace Convention was held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, where a plenary session was held from 12 to 14 December. Hundreds of experts, scholars, representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and young students from the Philippines participated in the Plenary Session. The conference was organised by the Global Peace Foundation (GPF).

During the three days of the conference, the Global Peace Conference held a number of events, including the opening ceremony, roundtable discussions, luncheons, award ceremonies, and other activities. Stephen Campbell, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for European and Asian Development Policy Research (CEDPR), participated in the conference, taking part in a number of roundtable discussions, including "Free and Unified Korea: Accelerating Regional and Global Economic Development", "Peace in the Indo-Pacific", "Facing the Future", and so on. He participated in several roundtable discussions on "Free and Unified Korea: Accelerating Regional and Global Economic Development", "Peace in the Indo-Pacific Region" and "Facing the Future". He also spoke at a luncheon on the theme of "Peace and Security", introducing the active role CEDPR has played in promoting global dialogue and cooperation in recent years.

On 20-24 June 2023, CEDPR experts participated in the Mongolia Forum organised by GPF, One Korea Foundation, NGO Blue Banner and other foundations in Mongolia. Under the theme of "Peace in Northeast Asia and Unification of the Korean Peninsula", the forum explored the prospects of national security and policy changes in the region. The forum was attended by leading experts, policy makers, journalists, civil society leaders, including international youth leaders from the region.

Enksaikhan, former Ambassador of Mongolia to the United Nations, and other guests attended the conference.
