CEDPR Speaks at Global Solutions Summit 2024
On May 6, 2024, the Global Solutions Summit 2024 opened in Berlin, Germany. CEDPR consultants spoke at the "Global Solutions Committee", a two-day event where thousands of dignitaries, experts, academics, business people and others from around the world exchanged views on the problems facing the world today and the urgent need for global solutions.
The theme of this year's Summit is "Beyond Crisis: Mobilizing Change for Global Prosperity", focusing on climate action, socio-economic transformation, energy security, and multilateralism. The event was attended by a number of speakers, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy and Climate Protection Robert Habeck, Co-Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates, Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Federal Development Minister Svenja Schulze, Nobel Laureate Professor of Economics and Professor of Development Innovation at the University of Chicago, and Dr. Jürgen Krausch. Michael Kremer, Nobel Prize-winning Professor of Economics and Director of the Laboratory for Development Innovation at the University of Chicago; Charlotte Justine Sicat, Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank; Marta Fernandez, Director of the BRICS Policy Center; Anshula Kant, Managing Director and Group CFO of the World Bank; Helena Leurent, Director General of Consumers International; and Jennifer Kennedy, President of the African Union Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights. The Global Solutions Summit has been held since 2017 to discuss and address key policy challenges facing key global organizations such as the G20, G7 and other global governance forums. This year's conference will have a total of about 1,000 offline attendees and about 200 guests will deliver speeches, during which more than 50 sessions will be organized.
