Who We Are

The Centre for Eurasian Development Policy Research (CEDPR) is a Hong Kong-based research think-tank dedicated to deepening links between the countries of Europe and Asia and promoting public understanding of Eurasian-related issues. Its research areas include international relations, trade, finance, economic and industrial development, Central Asia and Transcaucasia, and trends in the CIS and other regional organisations. In addition to providing research findings, CEDPR organises conferences, workshops and lectures from time to time to provide a platform for tripartite exchanges between government officials, academics and the general public.

What We Do

CEDPR aims to promote research on the most important economic and social issues that affect people's lives. In order to improve communication and understanding in Europe, Asia and the world, they should be aware of the problems and choices they face, and CEDPR endeavours to present the issues in an accurate and understandable way, so that the public is better equipped to make choices between the various policy options.

To this end, CEDPR has embarked on professional research and public education.Professional research aims to fill important gaps in the understanding of particular economic and social issues or the impact of particular policies. The mission of the public education component of CEDPR is to present the results of CEDPR's and other organisations' professional research in a way that gives the wider public a clear understanding of what is at stake in major policy debates. An informed public should be able to choose policies that help to improve the quality of life of people in the Eurasian region and the world.
